I have to ride down a rather terrible lane in pitch black when I finish work. Last week I caught a ridge in the road where it had partially collapsed and crashed heavily.
Now i'm a little bit pissed that I broke my gear levers on the bike, I'm more pissed that I went through three layers of clothing on my arm and ruined a lot of expensive clothing.
As I sat on my arse feeling sorry for myself I wondered whether cycle insurance covered the loss of these items in this instance. Its costing nearly £400 to replace everything.
It had occurred to me that I just shouldn't crash but st happens.

Some cycle policies will offer this as an extra. Home insurance can cover this too.

Yes I have insurance for that. Its costs me £202 a year for 2 road bikes. I have it mostly to cover if I cause an accident. I think I have 2 million pounds damage coverage which I'd have to be flipping unlucky to cause more than that.
