996 C4S or 997 C2 in the Cambridgeshire area

I'm considering changing my C63 Coupe for a 911.

I really like the 996 C4S from an ownership perspective, and I also like the potential a 997.1 or 997.2 has.

I've had passenger rides and driven Boxsters and Caymans, however, I've never had a 911 experience.

Is there anyone in the Cambridgeshire area, with either of the above, that could possibly give me a passenger ride so I see what they feel/sound like etc.

Happy to return the favour in my dirty great 6.2 V8 C63 if it helps sweeten the deal!

I've come from a c63 ppp which was a awesome car sound epic.
I can assure you you wont be disappointed but after the c63 you will need at least a s model 911. The old c4s will feel slow compared. I went 997.2 gts and I love it.

Interesting. Thanks for the feedback.

I'm not necessarily bothered if it's slower as such, but I want it to feel special to drive, which I'm hoping the 911 will.

997.2 GTS is probably a bit rich for my budget!

Am only across in Northampton, happy meet up somewhere halfway so you can have a good look around a good 4S. Whereabouts in Cambs are you?

Everyone loves the 996 C4S it seems, and values reflect that. I've had three and they're great cars but if you want an 911 experience I would avoid the 4s as some of the steering feel and balance which gives the 911 its character is missing.

I think bigger issues for you coming out of a 63 AMG will be noise and shove. You will definitely want the switchable sports exhaust, or something that's had a mod or an aftermarket system as you'll struggle to notice the standard exhaust on a 996. You will also miss the grunt and loony factor of the 63 engine. There is something plain naughty about it, whereas the 911 engines are more clinical and efficient, albeit lovely in their own way.

The C4S will be loads better on track though, if you do that.
