Granite interiors
Discussion
I've currently got a Volvo XC60 as a company car, had it approximately 18 months and have done 35k miles in that time. There are a lot of things about it that I do like such as the engine and gearbox combination, the seats, the heated windscreen, the info system, and did I mention the seats?
However the interior build quality just seems unbelievably poor. Issues include something sliding about in the centre console whenever you go round a corner, creaking centre console, rattling centre speaker in the dash, rattling above the glovebox, rattling front passenger door card, rattling rear passenger door card, and something creaking in the boot at motorway speeds.
The dealers whilst willing have been ineffective in solving any of these noises and I've resorted to downloading the workshop manual and sorting them out myself. I've managed to resolve some although the sliding thing and the creaking boot remain.
I know I am sensitive to rattles in cars, I think it's an inherited affliction but my previous skoda Octavia was silent upto 82k miles when it went back.
I just wondered what mainstream cars had the best built interiors in PH's opinion? I'm not talking about soft touch plastics of damped grab handles just quality build.
TL:DR

t and I want my next car not to be. Opinions?

SWMBO bought a new XC60 D5 AWD earlier this year & i totally agree with all the positives but have to say the build quality is as good if not better than most German cars i've owned/driven. Driver comfort is exceptional & so far the cars over delivered against our expectations in every way.
Only thing that rattles in ours is the car seat in the back which of course isn't the cars fault.

Didn't even know there was a car buying sub-forum
I can't help but think it must be a Friday afternoon car, it's almost impossible to find a bad customer review of the XC60 online, everyone who has one seems to love them. But it's really twisting my melon, I might start leaving it unlocked in the less desirable areas of town.
