Probably been done to death but I've never changed cars since the new rules came in.

I'm potentially going to pick up a car this weekend. Transfer insurance etc is fine.

RFL, so this is where I is stuck smile

1. I need to transfer it over to the new car. Do I do this online or call them?
2. I need to SORN the old car as its not sold yet. Do I do this online or call them?

I'm unsure which way is best to make sure I'm covered and the DVLA don't fine me for an untaxed vehicle sitting in my garage.

Cheers

You can sorn it online or over the telephone, tax you just start again with your new car, you will get a refund on your old cars tax when you sorn it.

How long do you intend to keep the old car for ? If it's a week I would see if you can get drive away insurance on the new car then leave your old one taxed and insured while I assume you try and sell it.

Cheers, depends on how long the old car takes to sell. It won't be being used at all.

Just remember no tax, no test drives, if it's taxed it needs to be insured
