Does anyone have any advise on a good Digital Video camera that is suitable for strapping to your Car / Bike to record all those great and not so great moments out on track? Is it possible to get one with seperate lens / eye? I'm realy in the dark on this one, as I have no knowledge of video cameras.

Cheers in advance, Nik

www.jackals-forge.com/lotus/trackdays2002/trackdays2002_cadwell1.html

somewhere in here there is a note on what camera and set up is used - i think

sorry I haven't got round to this yet - so no opinion of my own

Another one to try is www.jimbocam.com - i think he lists his set up

both are excellent sites !

Demon Tweeks do a universal camcorder mount that clamps to your rollcage (or some other suitable point) and holds thje camcorder on via velcro straps. try:

I bought my camera mount from a company in Nottingham:

With the camcorder you'll be better getting one with an "image stabiliser" to give you a steadier picture. Also make sure you can get an incar power lead from the fag lighter for the particular camera you buy.

cheers

www.rfconcepts.co.uk/ do a fab little bullet cam which if you have the right inputs on yout camcorder (explained on the site) will let you mount the camera anywhere (inside or out). Very good quality - and means the camcorder can just sit in a glove box etc.

I just bolted my old VHS camera to the rear diagonal - got some good steady shots (cept when I had a littel detour of course )

You might want to try and get a wide angle lense tho - I found it difficult to get the interior and exterior balance right, as its fun to see whats coming, and what speed/revs your doing at the same time.
