Hi All,

I'm the process of getting the T350 back on the road and need 4 new tyres.. as I'm planning on doing a couple of track days this year and the prices arn't too different i was thinking of going for Yoko AD08R's or TOYO R1R's instead of the standard T1R's currently on. For those running these tyres what sizes are you using? I can't match the current Front 225/35 R18 Rear 235/40 R18 with either these (or practically any other!?) tyres - I'm still on Spiders.

225/40/18 should fit on the front depending on how square the body is and how low the suspession is set.

I have 225/40/18 fitted to the rear too. No issues.

I run 205/50/16 NS-2R on trackdays. Again no issues.

Plenty of threads in the TVR forums on tyres - type, size, brand. Do a searchy searchy.

At the end of the day tyrea are a personal thing. The Dunlop Blueresponse is very highly though of over in the S forum and yet one poster found then to have 'no grip at all'. Bit hard to see that imho having followed TGTVR round Snetterton. I also think MSmith has them fitted to his S and he was showing a clean pair of heals to the regulars (5.0 RV8 Chims) round Donnington last month.

Thanks mk1fan if 225/40/18 is an option that give a lot more choice, i'll spend a bit more time searching the forums.

One of the first things I did on my T350 was swop to 225/40/18s on the front to get a bit more sidewall... I've been using R1Rs on the Sag but they are not great in the wet and they do overheat on track days on warm dry days....

I was reading the track day section the other day and Nankang have some great reviews by folks along with Yokohamas

Interesting thanks RedSpike, i've noticed the Nankangs are available in a 'Y' speed rating which would avoid any potential insurance issues with 'W' rated tyres which most of the track day tyres seem to be.. they're cheap as well!

I am very happy with my NS-2R. Both on the track and the road. Even in the wet.

Hi All,

Just a quick follow up - purchased NS-2R's in the Street (180 treadwear) compound from Demon Tweeks:
Front - 225/40 R18
Rear 235/40 R18

No rubbing etc so all seems good. Not driven that far yet so can't comment on wear/wet weather grip but they seem fine in the dry - can definitely feel the stiffer sidewall's though it does make for a harder ride.

I also think they look pretty good smile

Cool. I've not had any issues with them, even in some monsson type weather on a couple of Euro Tours.

I run R1Rs on the Tamora 4.3

225/40x18 F
255/35x18 R

The shoulders are very square on these tyres and I modified the inner arches F/R to accommodate and stop the rubbing... otherwise just running A slightly higher ride height will suffice, but don't forget to reset the geo.

In the wet they're not bad but better than the 888's and AO48's. As with all these types of tyres in the wet don't go near water with less than 3mm as you will be picking your P&J out of the gutter if you are not erm extra careful.

Track day wise I've not had a problem with over heating...despite spending most of the time with the back end out ! R1Rs are not a patch on 888's or 48's which are good track day tyres where the R1Rs are definitely a compromise more road focused for me .
