Did anyone see the gull roof for the Elise at the Donington Park show at the weekend? 'H' piece fits into the existing fittings for the soft top. At a glance seemed very practical for dismounts , albeit costly, but will it really stow in the bot of a S1?

apparently so. looks good and is far more practical than the hood. id say its worth it for the hassle of taking off and stowing the soft top

Rick's is looking good - not seen it in the flesh yet but initial reports are favourable. I think it looks great on his car and the targa panels would deffo fit in the boot without hassle I'm sure.

Hi all

I've been making enquiries about the gullwing roof myself. A company called Production Glassfibre is now manufacturing these to the original Middlemoor design.

I've been in touch with their General Manager (Jonathan Patton, Tel: 028 94469977; e-mail: jp@productionglassfibre-ni.co.uk) about the gullwing. I've not yet seen one of these in the flesh, but this guy has promised to get a finished hardtop over to their Blackburn factory, which is about 20 minutes from where I live, over the next 1-2 weeks

I fell in love with the idea of one of these at the launch of the S2 (at the time when Lotus were planning to offer one!) but will only consider buying one if the quality if top notch. The price also seems high for a non-essential mod for the car, especially when I consider the really essential mods I'm planning (induction, upgraded discs/pads, gear linkage, interior retrim)

I have a pdf version of a brochure on the hardtop. If anyone's interested, let me know your e-mail address and I'll send it over.

Cheers
Lee

PS. I'm not on commission but I think hadtops really suit the Elise
