Gee talk about quiet. It's funny, but this site seems populated entirely by weekday IT specialists who surf pitonheads instead of working. (Mind you this is my working day today!) How many millions in lost man hours this site has caused can only be guessed at.

For example and no disrespect, but what self-employed pistonhead would willingly employ CarZee when they see how busy he is on here?? (CarZee l'm sure you're a wonderful fellow and very talented, but you post more than the Royal Mail loses!)

You are quite right, there are very few who don't get paid to surf, I don't know what the weather is like where you are, but here in Somerset the sun is cracking the flagstones at the moment, and I really ought to be either out in the car as I supose a lot of PHer's are, or back out on the drive under a car. Bugger being at work though! What is it you do thats so important it can't wait till monday?

I'm checking here from time to time today and every Sunday. Work 7 days a week, and yes I am very jealous of those who can just jump in their cars and go for a blast or have a barbecue...bastards!

7 days/week. Are you self employed or something?

Edited to include:
Latifrugs? Hmm, where do you get said rugs. Is it all persian silk and the like? (Must have to sell a reasonable amount of them to the right people to afford the rooster.)

I'm working at the mo - at home in my office. Just waiting for a 2hr dataload to finish, part of a data migration exercise I'm doing for a client. When its done I can start testing my web front-end ready for implementation next week.

I'm afraid I can't sit at a keyboard without pulling up PH these days - just addicted I guess.

Apparently it is summer outside - I've had to close my blinds to see the screen so I know its daylight at least!

I used to work all hours (Minimum of 71 hours per week as a lorry driver,uk-europe-uk) just to make ends meet, but I came to the realisation that, Familly and fun are far more important than money, so I just made the rope a diiferent size and now it's not quite as hard to make the ends meet. In my new job as Transport manager for a small independant Brewery, I have different responsibilities and don't do weekends/nights away but make a lot less money, a question of priorities I supose.

Well Director/owner of a company, but we do retail/wholesale so need to be open everyday. Have got some staff that I can trust to hold the fort so can get some days off but at present missing 4 of those guys, so for now just me and 3 others. Can't help opening PH, do it ritually in the morning, together with mail and email. Then again in the afternoon during my lunch and sometimes just before I leave. When using the PC heavily, I just keep PH in the background and press F5 every half hour or so!!!

Must be addicted I guess.

Strange you ask that. But at the moment I'm in work and Carzee is in the next office sorting out a network problem........... Oh yes and I'm paying his bill

I agree absolutely! When I first started out in business by myself, I used to work 7 days a week, a minimum of 16 hours a day. Used to open up at 9am close at 7 or 8pm and then worked on various bits and pieces at home, eg. developed my own computer system (accounting and stock control database), website, marketing brochures etc till about 3 am, sometimes even continued till 6 am. I was constantly tired and nearly broke up with my girlfriend of, at the time 5 years. Felt like I was burning myself out. That was nearly 3 years ago now, and I've learnt to relax a lot more. Still work 7 days a week but cut off now at around 6 or 7pm and don't really bother to work, only VERY exceptional ideas get my laptop out! And IMO I had it easy because I had an experienced employee handed to me, a massive building rented to me at favourable rates, and stock sent to me on very long credit terms, and rather good pricing too! I'm very, very, very lucky and very, very, very grateful for it.

Funki, just saw your edit: We sell all kinds of rugs, including very fine silks and also very modern rugs too. Small profit, lots of sales, good net profit remaining. When selling direct to public, we aim to be at least half, if not a third of the price of John Lewis et al, and about half the price of IKEA. On average people save over a grand on a £2,000 rug, so you can see why so much of our business is recommendation! My supplier is my dad, so I get VERY good prices!

Setting up a Linux Router for my home network
Well, weather is dry, few clouds in Hesse: would be ideal to have drive or get greasy hands, but I still wear my bathrobe. Was a bit late yesterday.
I think, I'll be off for a later.

normally i'd only check stuff in the week when at work, but currently i'm spending the weekend migrating a couple of servers - so it's surfing as usual! not that i'd swap the cold confines of a comms room for the decent weather outdoors today, you understand.... (shurely shome mishtake?)
