Apologies, it looks like I ran out of title characters before I could include a "?".

Anyway, as per the title really, I want to add rainbow stripes to my jersey sleeves, to give them a bit more of a "pro" look, I have noticed some of the better riders in the pro peleton have them.

I have a friend who is quite handy with a sewing machine, but the material will need to be a bit stretchy, and I'm not having much luck finding it.

I'm also keen to get the right type of rainbow. I support equal rights for all, including but not limited to age, gender, race or sexual orientation. However, the gay pride style of rainbow is not the one I'm aiming for on my jersey.

Does anyone have any useful information that might help me achieve what I'm looking for?

I'm guessing this is a joke, otherwise your best bet would be to win a world championship, and earn the right to wear those rainbow bands.

Did I neglect to mention in my first post that I DID win them? I have earned them. Sort of...

Yesterday my brother and a close friend entered and won the Mountainbike Chariot Racing World Championships in Llanwrtyd Wells.

Me on the left. No expense was spared on the trophy:

It was an event that could be entered by anyone, it's not my fault the Sky lads are busy preparing for racing down under. We could only race who turned up, and yes, there were some Canadians there, and some other odd accents. (Might have been the Welsh.)

Not sure if it was a UCI event, and I was never asked for a pee sample or my biological passport. Clearly it is a fun event, but I can legitimately claim to be a World Champion. They have a beer festival in the evening, but sadly I only really had a pass from the wife and kids for Saturday.

I really am thinking about putting rainbow stripes on my scruffy and commuting jerseys though, so if anyone has any real ideas, I'm all ears!

OK, nicely played sir.
In that case, I know where a few ex world champions live.
I'll keep a look out, while you nip in, and cut the sleeves off their kit.
You can pay me back with the lucrative contracts you are about to receive smile

Would you like a rainbow tutu to go with your stripes?

I might know where to find one...

If you think I'm going anywhere near your spare room with you, then you're even dafter than you look!

I suspect you may see some familiar faces in your title defence next year....

This made me laugh! Well played sir, I'd just get some coloured electrical tape around the sleeves and wear with pride!

It was a really nice event, with friendly and slightly mad people involved.

Cambridge University had 4 teams there. From the board games society. hehe

I'd like to see it be more popular, as it deserves to grow a bit!
