low profile truck wheels on van/jeep UK

i was wondering if it would be legal in the uk, if we could run truck wheels shaved down to accept jeep van tyres i.e 22.5 down to 22 or 20.5 down 20, ive researched they only use aluminium wheels in america and run them on dually pick ups trucks, i know we would need adapters from the states to make them fit, just thought it could make a change from banded steels as there already a large size
