Yes, I know it's cheap and heavy, but does anyone own this model?

http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/folding-bike...

Looking at getting it to ride either side of a train through London, and my budget is currently very limited.

I know people are going to say spend 4x more and get a Brompton, but I want reviews of this model or other cheap ones.

Cheers

I presume Halfords have one in stock and you can go and pick it up.

I would suggest you fold it and walk around the shop a few times carrying it around - to replicate real world use at the station / office.

My Brompton is from memory 13Kg - amongst other things the rear rack which has only been used once probably wont help at an extra kilo. I'm not your normal powerfully built company director Pistonheader - carrying the bike down stairs to the car is enough for me. Luckily mine isn't for city use (but has done a couple of such trips) - mines for the car to take on holiday - even beat better bikes up Cheedar Gorge - or through the Dunloe Gap in Ireland (45 mile ride).

And whilst mentioning Brompton there were a few sale models recently (Evans ?) - do you have an employer that offers C2W - or could be persuaded to offer it ? You could effectively get a new Brompton for under £500 - so only twice the price and with easy payment terms.
