as a serious Ferrari supporting owner let me tell you we don't care who wins so long as the red car with the horse is at the front.

Schumacher just happens to be in the best car powered by the best engine

I have never liked Schumacher since he tried running JV off the track (he just shouldn't have done it !!!) but he is better than Rubens and with MH gone there is no-one to challenge him bar RB.

And if I have to hear that w@nker James Allen anymore I'm gonna throw up....what a tosser

what a McLaren suck he is !! a bloody Newey go-kart with a M-B motor that lasts a few "hot" laps, big deal!

Sorry, it's just that Ron Dennis is the most miserable git I have ever seen and anyone associated with him is a bloody loser backing this moron

I use to think Frank Williams was a miserable git too but have read enough about he and Dennis to realise Frank is a racer who will do anything to win while RD will just whine all day long and cast aspersions on anyone who beats his billycart....

I'll accept any abuse regarding MS providing it is posted by somebody who is a better driver than him.

Truth is he's up amongst the all time greats and is a true racer. Why does he attract such abuse?

That's tripe gnomesmith, none of us have any chance of proving we are better than him nor is anyone saying that.

I choose to dislike him because he has no ethics whatsoever. He rammed Hill off in 94 and tried the same on Villeneuve a few years later. No team mate is ever given a chance to race with him on equal terms,so how can you tell how good he is. Put Juan Montoya in the other Ferrari (on equal terms) and he would quit F1 altogether.

Best driver he maybe but sportsman and Gentleman he certainly isn't.

Since when has being a sportsman or a gentleman ever been part of Formula 1. It's not even about entertainment, it's about money. End of story. As was said earlier, nobody cares who drives the cars as long a their car wins, cause if they don't the money dries up, boring shite.

Agreed, but in the past there have been many Gentlemen who have become champions, find a driver of the era of Fangio, Moss, Stewart, Villeneuve Snr and Hill and see if they have bad things to say about any of them. You could talk all day about Schumacher lack of Sportsmanship. I have no doubt he's the best for a few years but he is flawed and that's the end of it.

F1 in it's current guise is boring drivel. Lets hope it changes before everyone has switched off....

Is it just me or is the Saturday practice MUCH more interesting than the race proper? You get to see the drivers actually going for it, drifting, opposite lock, and inevitable spills.

Take away the traction conrols, take away the launch controls, take away the grooves in the slicks, remove the rules that limit down force, lets see some racing. Formula 1 has been boring shite since the Hesketh team folded. James Hunt was as badly behaved as "Micheal Shoemaker" but at least he made things interesting!

On the point that MS is an exceptional driver: Why did he turn down Colin McRae's offer to go head to head in both an F1 car and a rally car? Probably because he knew he would lose. MS is the current outstanding talent in F1, sure, but they do have too much electronic gizmos to really drive the car, take it all away and then we'll see.

exactly my opinion, F1 is one of the most unskillful sports, schumacher is just slightly better than everyone else and ferrari give micahel (there star driver) the best car

It is worrying that nowadays when the drivers get out of the F1 cars, they have hardly even broken a sweat.

The onboard camera shows that they are casually guiding the car around the track, the car and electronics do the rest.

They may spend more time in the gym these days compared with old, but even so..... make them work for it, thats what I say.

I remember when Mansell almost had to be carried out of his car as he was so exhausted.

F1 is getting more and more boring...... and now murray has gone, there arent even any more laughs when the racing goes stale.

I think Formula 1 is weely axciting with pwetty cars and bright colours.

I weely like the red cars and the blue ones but I don't like the grey ones as they are not as nice.

I think they are too noisy and I am glad there is no overtaking on the twack as I would'nt be able to cope

On the subject of whether MS is statistically the most successful driver ever (which on the face of it he is), does anyone know how many championships Senna would have won if Prost had been told to take a number two position when they were team mates? (did prost win two when teamed with Senna?) - also if Williams had given Senna the drive in 93 instead of Prost, that would have been another championship to Senna.

How many more races would he have won if Prost had moved over when they were one two?

Be interesting to know what might have been if Senna had manipulated the entire GP circus in the same way MS has...just a thought.

I think that's becomming a regular feature - qualifying is often more spectacular - especially when some loony like Kimmi Raikonnen has the guts to do 185 mph into a wall of blown engine smoke. Most impressive thing I've seen in F1 for ages!

Can't remember Hill junior being much of a gentleman. Seemed to spend most of his time whining about the other drivers. Mansell was very entertaining but tried a lot of nutter overtaking manouevers that were hardly gentlemenly.
Schumacher stands out from the crowd most clearly when the conditions are at their poorest, i.e. the pissing rain. I'd have thought that that was more than adequate demonsration that he was the most skilful driver in F1 and least reliant on having an easy, hi-tech ride.
If any of the drivers appear to be just sitting there guiding their cars around the circuit, I'd say that was testament to their superb fitness. The whole idea is to be as smooth as possible inspite of the serious g's and slow-roast cockpit temperature.

Schumacher's real crime is being so damned boring.

I don't know how old you are, but I'm 37, the formula 1 era I most enjoyed was James Hunt through to Gilles Villeneuve I supose that would be mid 70's to early 80's. I would rather watch football than Formula 1 at the moment, and I can't stasnd football.
