Hi I am trying to wire up Rally driving lamps on my 2005 NB.
The lights are fitted and the relay is all wired to an isolation switch I now just need a feed to the switch with power that is only live with the head beams on.
I have wired spot lights before and usually taken the switch live from the outgoing live to main beam that comes from the dip/head switch or the back of the bulb high beam wiring and all has been fine.
Now I have become a little perplexed by the my 2005 NB S-VT as for some reason the lights do not seem to be switched in the normal way as there is no on/off power at either of my preferred usual feed take off location.
So has anyone succesfully wired in spot/driving lamps that work only with high beam via an isolation switch? if so I would appreciate knowing their wiring arrangements please as we have a rally coming up soon.
Thank you in anticipation.

Can't help directly Colin, but had a quick look on some of the MX forums and found this which could be of use https://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=505378

It describes how the feeds to the lo and hi beam work (as far as he can remember) so might give you a lead on how it's wired up. Couldn't find much else of use, I guess it's not the sort of thing most people do for road use.

Sorry to trouble you after all this time, but I've just stumbled across your post from 2017 which touches on exactly the problem that I'm facing; how to pick up a live from the main beam circuit on a NB 2.5 to ensure that driving lights turn off on dip - the wiring doesn't seem to follow the normal logic....! If you did find a solution I'd be delighted to know what it is. Thanks
