Why was I banned from the George Michael thread?

Anyone care to provide an insight into why I was banned from the above thread?

I had a message this morning saying 'give it a rest'. This was hours and hours after I stopped posting on there.

My comment about calling someone literally a moron was removed. Yet the comment I was responding to where someone said I was literally too stupid has been left?

Also, jokes about GM's sexual nature are there still for all to see.

Finally, others on that thread seem to agree with my comments.

So, why was I banned? Why was a comment responding to an insult from someone else removed, but the originali insult is still there?

Seems like a mod became all giddy due to a power trip and utilised a ban hammer without proper investigation. Saying that, it's not the first time PH moderation has been questionable.

If you can't say something positive when some one passes away then don't say anything, be respectful, at least for a few days.

Really? Because I commented that a celeb passing away doesn't make me sad? Yet, in the same thread, people are making jokes about him being sucked off in toilets? And these comments are still there for all to see.

Read my posts. I didn't say anything derogatory, I didn't say anything negative about him as a person either.

Oh well. Thanks for clearing it up. I see the moderation of this forum is as haphazard, spontaneous and pathetic as I thought it was.

i am still bitter and twisted about being banned from NPE because of my (slightly) weighted views on the Madeleine Mccann situation...

Oh dear. Sounds like if you have an opinion that is different to the norm, you arent welcome.

In my case, the ban and post removal is hilarious as the mod left far more controversial stuff in there. He or she also removed my post, which was a response to an insult that is still in the thread. Talk about double standards.

To be honest, I doubt I'll get a further ban as I'm not bothering with parts of this site anymore. Episodes like the one yesterday tend to put you off.

And yet new members are allowed to troll the hell out of the forum, even to the extent of mocking the deaths of innocent people, and remain entirely untroubled by the mods.

If the regime here was a tough one, it'd be fine. It's the lack of consistency that's bizarre.
