Will the Breitling Mission Emergency ever become a classic?
Discussion
Watches aren't like cars though. They depreciate afaik. Classic cars from the pre 1980s are blessed with teenagers growing up to have money wanting their pin up, low interest rates, rust, car crashes and dwindling parts supply all of which works to jack up prices of what is in reality low quality tat (yes even old Ferraris and Lambos)

Ha ha, I love old cars (but lets face it they are fairly terrible)and have a 500 sec from 83 and hope to buy more (luckily I am more attracted to old luxury cars than sports cars and these are worth their money well somewhat anyway). Watchwise unless its a very rare old Breguet or ltd edition Patek a watch is like pissing money into the wind. I should know Ive had a President white , Seamaster and a few other nice watches and wouldn't buy another. To me the President was a grail watch and after owning one I somehow got turned off watches.I even invested 1000 in instruments to service watches then lost interest after Pressy ownership. I wouldn't buy another Rolly. Breitlings, Breguets, Vacherons , Hublots, Pateks do absolutely nothing for me well maybe a Nautilus if I was feeling flush

Not sure I can agree with this. Cars are generally a depreciating asset, like watches. But buy the right one of either and you 'might' make money. Dolf Stoppard said:

Wont appreciate as long as Ernest jones keeps dropping prices on the emergency 2 like they have,i always buy used to avoid too much of a hit,now if it was a new daytona then your laughing lol
The 2 pricing seems a little ambitious but if it sells and all that.I tried one on, the original is tiny by comparison.
Prices for used originals seem all over the place right now, I may just end up keeping it.

Of course it will, not in your lifetime though, but yes is the answer to the question with an open ended time limit.
I would imagine if you don't wear it and keep it in its box when the year 5050 rolls around it would be worth a few zonks.
This post makes no sense to me.I would imagine if you don't wear it and keep it in its box when the year 5050 rolls around it would be worth a few zonks.
I will 100% have lost the paperwork or even box by 5050, I'm terrible like that.
