What could of bitten me?

What has bitten my bloody thumb? Any guesses?

20 mins ago, getting a few logs from manly log store.

Single puncture wound. Outside temp is probably 6-8 or so, south of England.

No pics as there isn't much to see but by god does it hurt. Hand is currently claw like and bad pins and needles in thumb. Knuckles hurting like fk! Typing one handed so bks to typos. Hand seized up.

Surely too cold for most things...am I being a big girls blouse and its just a wasp/bee blah de blah.

Didn't see anything so no definitive answer but all guesses welcome...

First guess would be that it was a queen wasp, hibernating in the wood pile.

Queen wasp possible. Have been stung a few times over the years but never as painful as this.

Definitely big girls blouse and very crap grammar.
