"High" Mileage modern diesels etc.
Discussion
Good afternoon,
With fleet cars etc. there are lots of modern mid-sized estates like the Focus Mk3 2 litre diesels about on the market with circa 100k on the clock. Are modern diesels used regularly for this kind of mileage good second hand purchases with little ill effect? Or do they actually wear out quite early on compared to the engines of old?
I'm just thinking for in the near future for a daily that I am not too worried of being parked in the car park or not so great industrial estates as part of my job whilst keeping my preferred fun car tucked away safe.
Thanks,

Thanks,
I've got a 06 Volvo V50 estate 2.0D which was purchased on 106k miles it's now just ticking over 171k only thing I've had to replace on it other than service items / cambelt, is a wheel bearing.
the clutch is getting a little noisy and is probably due replacement in the near future but apart from that it's been a motorway mile muncher quite happly

I've got an 08 Saad 93 - purchased on about 75k - now on 220k.
It's had the DPF fail - thats completly fail, not just need clearing - as in blocked solid - they DO have a limited lifespan.
Other than that i've only had to replace standard tyres / brakes / pads discs etc.
Still on original gearbox & clutch.

I've a similer story to those above, my other half has a Mercedes E350cdi coupe, we bought it at 3 years old with 86000 miles on it and it's never missed a beat, it's still as good to drive now and we've had it 4 years.
My advice would be, buy something with the correct service history and keep getting it serviced on schedule; I'd certainly go down the same route again.
