Eire - Roads / Petrol

I''m off to Ireland on Thursday for a week of relaxation, driving karts (& the Cerbera) and having the occasional beer or two. My main journey is going to be between Dublin & Limerick. The obvious route is using the motorway, but was wondering if anyone knew any good roads, either for scenery, or enjoyable driving (preferably both). Also what the availability of Super Unleaded in Eire. Easy/Hard/Impossible. Any info greatly appreciated. Thanks Paul

Paul, Can't help you on your specific questions, but there are a couple of things worth watching out for.... 1. Roads. Terrible conditions. Pothols all over the place. Very badly maintained. 2. Red lights appear to be entirely optional. Be vigilant! 3. Drink drivers. There seems to be lots about. Again, you need to be careful. 4. Unmarked vans. They use the same tactics as over here, so watch out for white van man parked by the side of the road. Hope you have a good time! C
