I recently had my 997 Turbo upgraded with a sports exhaust and 200 cell CATs. The sound is now much richer, BUT I now hear a loud hiss when the boost comes on.
Is this normal? It's most noticeable when in 4th or 5th gear cruising along and then you accelerate.
I am worried that there may be an induction leak? The car seems to accelerate OK, sometimes there may be a very slight hesitation under gentle acceleration, not hard acceleration. I did not get the engine re-mapped, it's fast enough already!
What do you think?

The hissing sound is more than likely a boost leak. Its not normal. Any decent Indy can fix.

It does create boost on the gauge, but hard to read and exact figure when you are whizzing towards the horizon.
What should it be?

All fixed, took the car to Addspeed in Horsham. They found a loose hose onto the LH intercooler. No more hissing and max performance again!

And which exhaust system did you go for?

It was a Kline like system. Anyway, after telling DMS that it was a problem with a loose hose, they would not give me a goodwill payment towards the fix. It wasn't expensive. They gave me a voucher against future work. Not likely to go back there so that is of no use. A poor experience all around with DMS Automotive.
