ARDS test - where?

looking to do my ARDS test in the next few weeks, does anyone have any experiance of the different schools? Snett / Brands / Silverstone all within 90mins of me(although Snett would be ideal as may be racing their later in year). Any advice much appreciated...

I think they do it at Mallory as well, but I don't know much else because I'm not a racing driver

I did mine at Silverstone. Excellent instructors with a very good reputation.

Silverstone probably have the highest standard necessary to complete an ARDS test, although I did mine at Three Sisters (It was a 'dates' thing).
I can throughly recommend Simon Mason, who is one of the senior instructors there, or just book in anyway & see who tests you.

It really does not matter where you do the ARDS test as all it is, is a brief drive in a car and a written test. If you are talking about tuition then thats a different thing.
What are you planning to race ?

i have to say that both my dad and myself took our tests at silverstone and found it to be really good. the instruction was fantastic and they were all really helpful. i would recommend silverstone!

Snetterton don't do it which is a shame as it's 20 mins from me. I ended up going to Pembrey as they run a course every Tuesday (if there's more than one person). A long way but an excellent course on a very much 1:1 basis.

Good luck with the ARDS-peace of cake provided you drive sensibly, know the flags and think safety first when answering the multiple choice.
The fun really begins when you start racing. A steep learning curve but very rewarding

Mallory do them on Saturday's which is much more convenient for me.

Silvertone have a reputation for the highest standard, but that could just be circuit snobbery talking and no basis in fact.... Although i do know they failed half the peeps there on a recent full day course.... mind you it was icey and plenty of spinners. a spin = instant fail !!!!

I did mine at silly stone after a total of zero track time before so it cant be that bad

There are a couple of instuctors / ards examiners on here Steve lewis and simon mason who may be able to give a few more pointers, which reminds me there is Rockingham run courses as well

Edited to say if you can find the time and the money do the race intensive 4/5 day course at silverstone instead. this includes the ards test a rompersuit and at least 1 race. I did it after my first half season and learnt so many things you should really know before going on the track and i'd done 6/7 races !!!!
donr bother with the more expensive cars the formula firsts are fine..
