I was looking on one of the used watch websites last night and couldn't believe how much they're asking for some secondhand Rolexes. Steel Daytonas are around £11K and 2 tones are around £10K. Are these prices achievable? If so I'm a very happy bunny.

All depends on condition, box, papers etc and if you have a new one with balance of 5 year warranty.

Remember those dealers all have margins. Look at Ebay and chrono 24 for the most realistic market prices for private sellers.

Yep the GMT and 50th lv seem to have shot up.

The new hulk looks better value 2nd hand now after the Rolex price rise and waiting list one may as well buy 2nd hand.

I've got a Kermit which I bought a few years back for £4.2k from a PHer. I find the Hulk a bit too green smile

Surely the price increase has caused this? The D Blue seems to have gone up as well.

The Kermit is the original anniversary watch , and fetches a higher premium than the all green version.

I bought a 2006 50th frog with box and papers recently for a bit over £5k. It was from a dealer in Glasgow (Tom Coll). Rolex frogs have an engraved rehaut after 2006 and seem to be worth a bit less than the early ones. Mine had to be a 2006.

Watch finder and chrono24 were all £1000 more expensive.

Quite a few used Rolex dealers in the Argyle Arcade in Glasgow who are not online so if you are looking it's worth popping through. Tom Coll has a website tho.

My Coke GMTII (with B&P) stays mainly n the safe these days. Bought it for £1,900 from WF in 2003. Current WF price is around £6,250.

Early version of Kermit with flat 4 on the bezel and version 1 of the dial command highest premiums.

time will tell, I went for the engraved rehaut as it's one of Rolex rarer watches of modern times with the shortest production run. Shorter the run the higher the price when it comes to Rolex.

you just seem to get a few forum people really hate the "engraved rehaut" for some reason.

only 13 listed in the UK from Chono24 cheapest being £8k.

price will be best for unworn examples or close to unworn. "engraved rehaut " or not seems to not change price.
unworn though and they are loads more money.

flat 4 has it's own pricing but again that's due to low numbers hence price.

Thanks for that and very interesting, I make mine a Mk6 based on the link but I had to have a 2006. Thank god it didn't have to be a 2003 as after a look it would have been double!

I traded in my 116718 gold GMTIIC for £10.5k in May, for some reason I'm wishing I'd held on to it laugh
