The Beat, well Ranking Roger and his son have a new album out called 'Bounce'

If any of you were into the Beat back in the day then you need to have a listen, sceptical as always I approached the album expecting the worst but they have done a rare thing, they have put an album together that has all the hallmarks and sounds of the Beat of old!

Madness also have a new album out, the sound is still there but slower and more considered lyrics, the Beat are just full on time to skank music.

You Tube has tracks up, I recommend FireBurn, Side to Side and Avoid the Obvious. Proper music played very well (watch some of the live stuff, they are pretty awesome)

My daughter and I went to see Roger's outfit last year.

It was excellent and she reckons it's the best gig she's ever been to! Certainly up there for me.

Lots of energy and lots of fun.

We saw the Specials two weeks later - They were good, but I would take Roger's version of the Beat every time!

Roger's Beat are fantastic live and the new album is a reflection of that, it is a great piece of work and really deserves more promotion.
