Is this worth the money? Will it retain any value?

With or without roundel?

Only you can decide if it’s worth the price being asked, but regular Balls tend to be found in Ernest Jone’s half-price sales during the summer and in the New Year.
Compared to retail, this is effectively discounted – but remember you’ll have VAT to go on top.
As for residual value, yes, it will retain some – probably 40% maximum, even though it is limited and numbered, depending on condition, of course…not that 1000 pieces is particularly limited.
I’d imagine you’re most likely to appeal to a wider audience if you leave it plain, although it is small enough to be pretty innocuous.

I used to own a couple of Balls (yes yes, very funny...
) and found them both to be solid and well built, though as said above they're much better value in the sales or even pre-owned. Ball don't have much of a following in the UK or Europe which would limit the ability to sell it on and the price you could command.
I like the look of that one though 44mm is a couple of mm too big for my tastes, and definitely go without the logo as having one will hinder passing it on more than be a plus, IMO. That and I just don't understand the Ball/BMW marketing tie-up at all!
