Britcar Launch
All manner of racers prepare for this year's series
Last Friday saw some of the scores of cars entered in this year's Britcar series take to the track at Silverstone. Also present were some of the more extreme racers taking part in European Endurance Racing Club's (EERC) Britsports series.
The Britcar series in growing in popularity as it represents one of the best value forms of racing around. The GT style racing allows participants to get plenty of time on track. Races are measured in hours rather than laps.
The large grids are organised into seperate classes have resulted in several classes generally based on engine size, with a new 'Production S1' class introduced this year.
The bottom line is that you get to see all manner of production type cars racing for a long time resulting in an entertaining series for participants and spectators alike.
This year's first race is at Silverstone on Saturday March 26th.

From what he says it should be good. Something like 115 cars registered to race under the BritCar series (all classes) so no shortage of people willing to take part..... full grids and close racing expected....
Baited breath....

Excellent stuff - might well go have a look at that. Anyone know if the Rouse boys are out this year in the Mercedes Evo II AMG...???
It was for sale over winter. Think I read that Rouse Jnr was going British GTs?
Last year's Britcar series was excellent and this year looks like being even better, especially with the 24 hours in September! I'll be at Silverstone on 26th without a doubt. Can't wait to see that 635 in anger...

Would it stand a chance against those Marcos guns?
We had both of our Marcos out on the day (both are shown in the pics, play spot the difference ) and both came through in excellent shape. Very much looking forward the new season and the chance to blow away the cobwebs from the winter and get those 'guns' a roaring
Anyone coming to the races please feel free to pop in to say hi to the team - TopCats Racing. Will have at least two cars at all the races, some support on the Zolder round would be nice to
Cheers

All we need is one each of these in Britcar now :
There was an ex-DTM E30 in the first couple of rounds last year, driven by Del Delaronde IIRC. Sounded superb on full chat down the start straight at Silverstone. There were also a few Gp N+ spec E30s out throughout the season too.
As for RS500s and SD1 Vitesses, still waiting for them. Maybe I need to be looking towards historic Group 1 saloon series...
