Be grateful for any advice on this - where to get it, what to look out for and what coats to expect etc. I'm looking for non-competitive but fully comp coverage. Ideally to cover a year, but would take event by event if that's all that's on offer.

Many thanks in advance.

Not quite pure trackday insurance, but my 911 (and previously Cayman GTS) is insured with Oman insurance and it covers trackdays. You have to request it however with a small premium increase. No idea if it's really worth the paper it's written on however!

Thanks guys - a lot of the insurance covers a person (i.e. health insurance), but not the car.

AUH Motorsports do offer it on a day-by-day basis, but it is hugely expensive. Be interested to see that AXA policy - mine certainly doesn't have it.

In case this is of interest to anyone, AUH motorsport provided the following quotes:

Accident repair cover Euro 50,000
Deductible` Euro 15,000
Max payout Euro 35,000
Premium AED 2,700

OR

Accident repair cover Euro 100,000
Deductible` Euro 15,000
Max payout Euro 85,000
Premium AED 4,450

Thats about 2% right? In which case not too bad, I've insured cars for more, guess the risk was higher in some cases.

cheaper to a do a trackday in an AUH radical surely?

i saw you at DA in the 991rs a short while back, thought you were mental for doing that, rookie session is usually like wacky races.

Per day or per session? Per day, that still sounds OK, per session, agree its expensive.

Then I dont actually think its that bad. It might not be what you can get for trackday in the UK, but for a car event with risk worldwide, it sounds OK.

Haha - thanks Craig :-). We are running the risk on this one. I hope that turns out to be the right thing.

To be honest, I've only tended to insure when doing classic racing and the car values are high.

ON the plus side, the car is complete and ready to go.

Guys just to complete the loop on this - Oman insurance offer track insurance as part of their road insurance policies.

Premium is 1% of the agreed value of the car.

On a claim, the payout is not capped but is subject to (i) AED1,400 plus (ii) 15% of the value of the loss deductions. So, if your claim is 100k you will receive 83,600.

There is an age limit on the cars they will cover - I think its 5 years.

Is that for 12mths (i assume car must be covered for road use with them as well)?

If so that is a rare bargain in these parts.
