My f****** neighbours!
Discussion
My neighbours (another flat in the building) are nice people, but they smoke too much dope and get trashed all the time; normally not a problem.
However, this weekend, they invited some of their mates round. One of whom, in a fit of idiocy, mounted my bicycle and rode it from it's position on an upstairs landing, down two flights of stairs.
1) brand new carpet is trashed
2) there is a big hole in the window of the front door
3) my bicycle is wrecked. £900 worth of racer - most of the spokes in both wheels are broken, and both rims are bent.
4) my bicycle is how I get to work. So today had to take the bloody train.
I found out when I returned home from a weekend away. These cnuts hadn't told me - my other neighbours did.
I haven't lost my temper in nearly three years. I lost it last night. Kicked on the moron's door until he came out (this about 11.00pm) and went absolutely mental. Informed him that he would be paying for my bike, the carpet, the door and my travelcard for the week. Told him that if he did not, I would be making a complaint to the police for criminal damage, and looking at civil proceedings. Intimated that he may also get a good kicking into the bargain.
Livid, I am.
This guy is 5 years older than me - at 32, he really should know better.
My poor bicycle - I've only had it 6 months!
The frame had better not be bent, or I shall wrap the remains of it around his stupid neck. Tw.at.

Good for you.
I'm all for having a laugh, but that is crossing the line. Did he make any indication of whether he would come through with the cash?
We have some neighbours a bit like that though not so bad, they do tend to make a racket late at night though.
Slightly alarming is that his car appears to be up on bricks at one corner at the moment
Hopefully he took a wheel to get a puncture fixed or something, don't want to find any of my wheels nicked

Harry, do you live in Belsize Park ?
Your sense of humour is wrong, but funny.
See that thread - that murder happened about 10 metres from my girlfriend's front door.
I doubt the frame will be damaged, more likely the forks and headset will need replacing.
What a bunch of w*nkers though - I backed into my neighbours car once, only slightly at about 2mph while parallel parking, and not a mark on either. I still knocked on his door and told him about it.
I suggest once you get your money/compo from him, you piss through his letterbox. No really.

Possibly. I hope you get your issues with your neighbour resolved in your favour ASAP and hope your (ex?) gf is ok.
Check that the frame hasnt sustained damage from the fork being bent backwards (ie folds/cracks in the headtube/down tube junction)
Being a bicycle collector I can empathize. My bicycles are as valuable as my car is, same pride and fun of tuning/modifying etc..
Best of luck getting damages paid back. Problem is that these waster types usually are so damn flakey and stupid that they haven't got any money.
