Recaro Pole Position Mounting

Hi guys

What is the best way to mount Recaro pole positions in a Cayman? Can I bolt Recaro alloy sidemounts straight to the floor?

I want the lightest way possible and don't want sliders as they won't need to move

Yes, but only if the sidemount holes match up with the captive bolts in the floor, but I doubt they will, as the front bolts mount at 45 degrees to the floor - or at least they do in a 991 - you didn't explain what car you're fitting them to..?

if holes don't align, best option will be to measure the ideal position for your seat, then weld some floor strengthening plates to the underside of the floor with some captive bolts, then bolt the brackets straight through the floor into them. Be sure to use high tensile bolts from the brackets to the floor and also from the bracket into the seat. If you crash, you don't want the seat to move..!

These guys sell various options, if you drive the car on the road as well I'd keep the sliders having some adjustment is useful in the real world.

I used to have seat fixed but very difficult to get exact position for driving. In the end went with one of these so I could run sliders and only about 10mm height difference to direct fix.
