Macan gen 2

Does anyone know if there will be a gen 2 next year or will it be 2018?
We are thinking of changing ours, probably for another, but don't want to get caught with gen 1 when gen 2 is due soon, had that problem before with 986 / 987 and was not the best!

Pretty sure it is is a 2017 unveil with 2018 deliveries.

Also it is not a whole new model like the change from 986/987 it will only be a facelift so not quite as bad, however i do understand your point, as Porsche facelifts tend to make the interior nicer.

That might be difficult for us, as I would like to sell ours in March / April as it will be 18 months old. Hmm.

I think it's after the new Cayenne, so probably 2018 (2019 MY), which follows Porsche's normal revision formula.

I've just pulled the plug on an intended June / July build on a Macan DS, I've had the same concerns shall I wait or not? what tipped me over the edge was as well as an interior update, is I'm also hoping for the inclusion of a more efficient petrol engine. I'm concerned over spending good money on a diesel at the moment with all the talk of a Toxin Tax.
Maybe worrying over nothing considering Porsche diesel comply to latest Euro6 spec, but I'm not in a hurry so I'm watching what happens for a while?
Does anyone think the revised Macan will include a Hybrid?

Hybrid tech is great if you fall into three camps

a) You can purchase it through a company so get a decent amount of tax relief

b) Live in a major city and it's congestion charge exempt (not all Hybrid's are)

c) You do a lot of short journeys which you can do on all electric power (the battery range is about 20 miles on current Cayenne or Panamera)

If those don't apply I wouldn't be holding out for a Hybrid Macan. I don't think Hybrid tech really works that well for you if you don't fall into those brackets ....I though long and hard and very,very nearly bought a Hybrid Cayenne but ended up buying a Euro 6 compliant Cayenne S Diesel instead.

Diesel is not going away...I believe Euro 6 deals with the issues that we are now all aware of. Pre Euro 6 diesels will get legislated out of existence in major cities over the next five years though.

I wouldn't worry too much about the next Macan impacting residuals....it's a year away at least and given how Porsche manage supply and demand the next gen Macan's will be trading at close to list price for at least a year after that.

Spoke to dealer today and the said gen 2 very unlikely till at least this time next year if not towards the end of next year so we had a poke around a Tesla Model X today, looks like that might be our next car.
