Bought a 4200 GT today!!! (2003 in nero with Avorio leather)..
After the typical TVR nightmare, now moved back to Italian motors, should never have left if I'm honest. But TVR's are tempting.
I now have a different type of exclusivity..
So, tips or comments on reliability or enhancements would be very welcome.

Have you tried L and V [url]www.liverpoolvictoria.co.uk/customer/protecting/motor/introduction.htm[url] made me happy
Good show that man!
I don’t suppose you were buying it from the Masser dealer in Colchester yesterday lunchtime-ish were you? I was having a look at a 355 and there was a bloke haggling with a significant amount of determination stood next to a 4200 and was making the sales bloke work for well for his sale?
Tell me regular forum posters, does De Tomaso ownership qualify you for this forum? There may not be many of us on PH but we would like a home of our own!

Congrats on the car, 4200 is a seriously nice motor, and as the other said a Tubi or similar sport exhaoust is well worth the investment!
Rob - DeTomaso surely does qualiy you - the only 'qualification' required for this forum is an interest and enthusiasm for itallian sports cars! (Or even just sports cars in general - i.e. you're a pher!)
P.S> (and sorry for the thread hijack!) when does your Deauville arrive?)

Hijack! Not a word of it. A Deauville is a great uncle to both a 3200 and 4200 having already spawned the Quatroporte III from its Modena loins back in the mid eighties. All part of the same happy familly
Membership of this forum will become valid in about a month as the Deauville is currently in a container somewhere in the Pacific. After that it will be about a week until I can get it through customs.
Painful this waiting game!

No that wasn't me.. I bought mine from the Masser Dealer in Birmingham. And there are some great deals to be had at the minute. I had 4 dealers fighting each other to sell me their cars.
