After the walk

Anyone else walk their dog. watch it pee on every tree in the park then take it home satisfied he'll be comfortable for the night only to watch him slug a bowlful of water when he gets in and think "FFS"?

Yup. Also, the pre-bed garden pitstop usually results in one of the dogs necking about 10 gallons from the water butt they have.. I swear he was a camel in a past life...

Our Terrier cross can go for 14 hrs without peeing.

If it's raining, he'll just sit at the open door with a "do I have to" look on his face.

My dog tends not to drink much during the day, but last thing at night just before he goes to bed he spends about 2 minutes drinking from his bowl.

He's fine at the moment but wonder if it will start causing him problems when he's older and can't hold it in overnight.

Yes... If we're going out for a while I'll give them an extra-long walk so they sleep. Get back in and they down the entire bowl in a matter of seconds

Our Westie is the same. I wish I had such good bladder control

Our dog raised herself (with a lot of Army help) in Afghanistan. She much prefers dirty water from puddles, plant pots and (her favourite) manhole covers to her nice clean dog bowl. Also she won't pee or poo within half a mile of the house; she never goes in our (reasonably large) garden.

Not a problem - I'm at that age where I get up several times a night anyway so it's nice to have some company


I should really pee outside in the garden I suppose.....
