Hi all,

So browsing through Kickstarter this evening seeing if there were any nice new watch projects that have surfaced. Spotted this https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/pegasuswatche...

I'm quite tempted by the white dial with black/red bezel. For the money it looks exceptionally high quality.

I think I'm drawn to the style so much as it's similar to my SeaDweller. I love watches that have a date on the dial but no bubble!

Let me know your thoughts.

Feel like I'm looking at Timefactors. Same principle more or less?

For that price, they should be using an ETA movement not a Miyota one!

Looks like yet another Fake Homage Rolex with a knackered strap.

Surely the market is already saturated with these? CW Ward. Steinhart etc.

Seems pretty pointless really. Just a direct Rolex copy styling wise, even down to the font style for the bezel insert, and having an engraved rehaut. They are claiming the watches are 'pre-aged', but in the photographs, they don't seem 'aged' in any way at all. Not for me thanks.

It's too close to being a straight up copy for me. And miyota at that price?

Not sure why anyone would go for that over a steinhart or ch ward.

Indeed - Lazy Rolex copy, been done to death already...

I've got a CJR Airspeed on its way to me - Like it or not, it showed how to do something different with Kickstarter watches for the same kind of price as this...

I'm getting quite tired of all these sub homages on kickstarter, I prefer innovative designs that offer something different (while not being too crazy of course).

This one in particular doesn't help itself with the verbiage used - I'm sure I saw mention of "aged sapphire crystal" - how does that work exactly?!

I love that they've put a graphic on their kickstarter page showing component and manufacturing costs...., and profit margin! Euro 37 to have the case, dial and presumably hands made is incredibly reasonable (costs me that for hands alone) and the profit margin very comfortable.

"We aim to redefine the vintage watch concept"

What rubbish, what 'concept' a vintage watch is a vintage watch because it's old, that's it!

Well said. Anyone got a Comex Sub they are looking to sell? I've got a crisp £50 note sitting right here.
