Range Rover Sport HSE 4.4 v8 (2006) - Should i buy????

Hi all,

First post here.....and potentially my first Land Rover.

A family friend is looking to sell me their 2006 Range Rover Sport HSE 4.4 V8, they originally bought the car 5/6 years ago with only 25k miles, unfortunately due to illness they have since only done around 1k miles a year. They have continued to service etc every year despite the lack of miles it is doing.

Currently the car has only done 34k miles and is now due its 10 year service, recently called the local LR dealer and they quoted me £1.2k and if I wanted a warranty package (due to its age) they could offer this at £1.5k a year.....

The car is in immaculate condition but just not sure on whether where it has been sat around doing nothing for years if i'm setting myself up for disaster.

Would appreciate any feedback on the older V8 petrol engines and things I should be looking for on a 10 year rangey.

The 4.4 is a very good engine but LR only sold them into the UK for about a year.

Other than the different engine, it's essentially the same problems you'd find for any other RRSport of that era (bushes, compressor, etc...).
