195 50 !5 Semi Slick
I've noticed that Tyreleader has currently some good prices on semi slick in the 195 50 15 size which I have on my MK1 Mazda - I only really use this car for warm days blats or trackdays so really interested in giving these a try.

hello mate, long time no see,
i had T1r's on my na and these were great for track. enough grip without setting lap records but not too much where i couldnt get the rear out with provocation.
My black turbo, which you rode in, had the AD08r's which gave the same pleasures, ie slidey sideways when i wanted it to. there was some movement at Silverstone on these but very progressive and i never felt like the rear would get away from me.
Both of these cars are gone now and i have a nice tidy turbo on Bridgestones. Seem to be a good road tire but not tried them on track. Track split rims are still shod in the T1r's for now and to be honest are not great with the turbo, though good fun is had, they do lose grip coming out of some corners where the Yoko's didnt. when worn out i will go to AD08r's or maybe try the Nankang's. reading good things about those.

Do you mean r1r as t1rs are crap on track I can burn through a set at llandow in a day very easily. Ns2r are good along with the new ar1 but that more a track focussed road tyre. Definitely T1r'S Chris,
got about 3-4 trackdays in the Eunos and running around in between and have lasted well.
Done Bedford and Anglesey on this set with travel there and back and have got another day at Bedford this monday. lots of life left despite my best effort. The only prob i find is the soft sidewalls which means wear on the outer edges as they roll over a bit. Counter this with a few PSi and the front goes a little light and squirmy, counter this with a heavier right foot
as i say, not my tyre of choice but i have to get rid of them so theyre staying on for this season. will never set lap records but do have a lot of fun.
Interested in the Nankangs next as they are a lot cheaper than the Yoko's,

I've used the RE002 (on a Subaru not an MX5) - they're not a semi-slick by any means, but a good all-round performance tyre. I used to run Achilles 123 semi-slicks on my turbo Mk1 MX5 which were budget priced but surprisingly good.

I’m considering a set of semi slicks for my cheap track hack (standard sump) and am worried about oil starvation. (I do tend to drive the poor thing dry hard)
