I own a 1971 Mach 1 and there's generally far more support on PH for the newer Mustang models than the older ones.

Please post a few pictures, though. I've seen a few convertibles for sale recently and love the look of them.

You'll find the Mustang Owners Club GB forum really helpful as well as a dedicated US forum for the '71-'73 models, as follows:

There was a beautiful green with black stripes early 70s Mach One broken down on the A3 at lunchtime. Just before the Tolworth turn off.

Caused a huge tailback and there was I muttering angrily to myself until I saw the reason and my heart melted.

Wasn't me, although I was out in mine earlier.

Always sad to see a classic broken down.

Good luck with the resto, hope you've bought a solid one, I had one for 8 years. Check cowl area for rot (pour water on the windscreen and check for leaks in the footwell & behind the dash) Door bottoms , rear wings, wheel tubs, in fact every panel can be rusty. The rear 'gutter' channel, that runs (hidden) across the car where the roof frame attaches under the back window, has open ends that let water drain inside the rear wings in front of the wheels. This area then rusts out if the drain holes are blocked. I blocked my gutter ends and fitted a tube to send the water directly out of the wheel tubs.

Just a few old photo's to help me reminisce! My son is 23 now!

Nice one pk500, she's a beauty. You've got plenty of work on your hands.
Good luck.
