I am quite tempted with this 996 C4S,

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...

I was either looking for a C4S or a possible stretch to an early 997 C2 in a solid colour.

Was the white a limited edition colour?

I have contacted Tom Ferguson for a quote to do an inspection, I live about 5hrs away so would involve fly up drive down having done the deal in advance.

Solid Carrara white is not only a standard colour it is free (whereas metallics were a cost option)

Don't like the painted sport techno alloys (a rare cost option)

but it is in "IMACUALTE CONDITION"

Unless mistaken, I don't think white was ever available on 996's.

you are mistaken - originally Glacier than Carrara

Free solid colours were white, black, speed yellow, guards red

Could be Carrera white, if this is correct: http://www.porscheclubgb.org/clientftp/Register/99...

I keep looking back at this wanting to like it but I'm afraid I just can't! May look OK with standard colour wheels and a normal badge at the back. Looks clean though

I have asked the dealer to confirm it is not a respray and a VIN number so I can decode it.
Not keen on the wheels but can be easily rectified.
I am not a fan on the metallic colours, ideally wanted a yellow 911 but white is quite a classic colour.
Plan would be to run as a daily (15 mile roundtrip)and pension off to more fair weather in the future,

FWIW - The one I looked at was in Newcastle... so could likely be the same car! Trying to find more details but I think thats all I've got!

It has had 7 owners so probable it has a private plate removed and another age related plate fitted.
Did you notice any major issues when you viewed it?

Sorry, by "looked" I mean made enquiries, didn't visit because i'm down south, about 5 hours away too!

I believe - going by the bonnet sticker, it was originally fitted with buckets which are now missing, this put me off!

Funny that is one thing I couldn't work out, the ruffled leather seats looked at odds to the rest of the car. Would make sense if they are cheap second hand substitutes.

Have you researched the dealer.... Cardealerreviews.co.uk is usually worth a read!

not exactly wonderful reviews, think I may swerve it. If it was closer and I could look myself, take for an inspection I would take a punt assuming the inspection didn't reveal any howlers.

Unfortunately my preferred (and more expensive choice!) is this: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...

However I would need to finance £7k which would leave me a bit over-exposed if a big bill came in... think I have talked myself into building up my war-chest and waiting another 6mths until it is more comfortable. Shame I am not very patient (eyeing up my Honda SP2 'investment' hiding under a cover in the corner of the garage)

Ok. Was white available on turbos, which is what I may have read?
