Led front lights.

I've seen the Furore light units. It seems the wiring is pretty similar, requiring a feed for the indicator if wanted. Then a permanent live if you want the running lights.

I currently have the latest Philip 130% brighter H4 lights, Cibie glass and the 5 3/4" bulbs.

I'm not local to other Caterham owners, but I was hoping to see if the LED lights are much brighter that an H4 bulb?

I'm changing the rears to LED and thought I'd look at the rest of the car.

Hi Ya,
if these are the lights that i think you mean ( led with orange halo for the indicator ) then i have a pair and have imported a few other pairs for pals of mine with other 7'esque kit cars.
Overall i really like them, and yes they are indeed brighter than anything else that i have seen fitted to a '7' ( or 7 style)....in the past i had a normal 5.75 in which i tried various lamps - now admittedly that was going back 4 years, so possibly the newer lamps are better/brighter. I tried HID which werent strictly legal and were better than a 'normal' lamp, but these LED's are way way better.

They are legal - depending how you wire them up and what other lights you have or want to keep on the car. The configuration can be:
1/ Daytime running light, on permanently and acting as a sidelight, with the orange halo acting as indicator. This is only legal if you maintain a sep sidelight as when it turns on the orange halo you lose the sidelight.
a/ i am informed that if you have an aux daytime running light then this the above is 'ok' as the aux daytme would be seen as a sidelight ( depending where mounted).
my car had daytme lights fitted to the upper wishbones so i could have done the above - but i didnt i went with option 2.
2/ disconnect the orabge halo - or rather dont connect it - leaving your existing indicators. this means that the new headlamp provides both sidelight and then dipped/main.
I liked this ( so i thought ) because when you see a car with option 1 above indicate it takes a couple of seconds after the indicator has switched off before the LED regenerates/comes up to full power. When i had pals following me i just didnt like that look. BUT i will switch to this because logically it makes sense to show other motorists that you're indicating by virtue of a bloody big/bright front light.

Not sure what effect the FX rate will have had on the price of these, last time i got some for pals i ordered 3 pairs and they came in at £150 a set. To my mind good value for a worthwhile upgrade.

this might give you a little more of an idea? one of the guys bothered to test then side by side with his old headlamps

Bit late to reply back to this one.

The before and after picture from the link looks quite dramatic, so surely much brighter.

Where do you source your lights for at £150?

i found a supplier/wholesaler in China who was happy to do small orders, if you drop me a mail i can probably dig out the detail - and i may know of a brand new set over here that weren't ever fitted, not sure whether that guy would be interested in letting them go.....
