Recently, a local villain stole property from a retail outlet near my workplace.

Nobody witnessed this but staff concluded it must have been said urchin, since he was the last person to have been in the area of the heisted goods.

Half an hour later, staff recived a phone call from the local pawn shop who had CCTV footage of this thief attempting to sell the plunder of his ill-gotten gains. They recognized the mercahndise and it's likely source and knowing the hooded scrote to be a local perp of sustained criminal proclivity, refused his custom at which point the stoney-eyed one turned and ran, clutching at one or two of their own items of merchandise.

Anyway, on Thursday this week, one of the staff from the original retailer mentioned above attended court as witness to part of the alledged sequence of events, the slippery little bugger having been apprehended later on during the day in question for ripping off some other browned off, over taxed, under protected member of the business community.

Said member of staff was in court for an 11AM kick off but our meths-inspired friend didn't feel it necessary to turn up until 2PM. (You or I would be done for contempt but these losers get away with such trivia by virtue of their very rebelliousness.)

Anyway, looked like a result; the piece of sh1t got a 4 month stretch! Excellent. But no, in fact. Crap.

He had stolen goods worth over a £1000 ex-VAT at cost from at least two businesses. However, the custodial sentence meant he forfeited that particular liabilty. With good behaviour he would be out in SIX WEEKS too.

So, browned off, over taxed, underprotected businesses get zero recompense and the somewhat less than artful dodger gets a small bit of training from his mates in preparation for his next assault, after a very short break, on the people he's just done over.

I just thought you'd all love to share another heart warming example of our society's effective treatment of the criminal/victim interface.

Shame he wasn't speeding - might have earned him another 3 months.

But seriously, how can they lock up a speeder who harmed no-one for a year and then this scumbag piece of sh1t only gets 9 months???

What really amazes me is that when this sort of thing happens no-one in any position of authority does anything about it, this is the sort of thing Blunkett etc should be doing (instead of offering to treat asylum seekers on BUPA so that we don't have to wait too long for NHS).

Nu-labour "tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime" ????????? WHAT A BUNCH OF TO55ERS!

He look like his Mum and Dad were too closely related.

If the judge is saying that the maximum sentence for aggravated vehicle taking is 2 years, then why didn't the little sh1t get 2 years? Surely there must also be some more suitable charge like GBH or attempted manslaughter?

The ultimate irony is the story that's running alongside it about the guy who's just got out of prison after serving 24 years of a life sentence for setting fire to some curtains in a church!

Surely these sentences have been mixed up. I can't think of any other logical explanation!

I thought you lot had already realised that justice is only dispensed from little grey boxes with yellow fronts and backs these days.
