Hi all,

Ordered my GTR on Monday, all I have to do now is wait...

But sounds like its going to be a blast.

Its interesting that very few people have actually driven the GTR before buying it (including myself).
I believe that the factory stopped after 14FC (on a test drive) bit the dust while in the hands of a punter. I wonder whether he bought one?

This is a first for me after having and test driven my previous 26 cars! (but then I am 82) ;-)

I must say that I was/am a little concered by this but hey I just had to have one! hehehhehe...

Glad to have you on board. Seems there are now quite of few of us on here building (or soon to start).

I only drove the demonstrator, in traffic, for 5 minutes. However I was recovering from Ted taking me round his country lane circuit!!
Its a case of looking at the spec and knowing full well that it will blow your socks off. The main part of the decision doesn't require a test drive. Its a case of convincing your otherhalf, the bank manager and your diary (assuming your building it). And would you be embarrased driving it through your home town (if so your on the wrong Website

The kit arrived in late June but due to work pressures I'm still on the panelling. The end of the cricket season should see a marked improvement!

I didn't take a test drive before my big purchase either. Heck, I had never even seen an Ultima in person or been to England before my purchase. In the U.S., here, we didn't have a distributor at the time. John Castle convinced me of the build quality, Ted graciously accepted my quid and then I waited 3 long sleepless months for the kit. All my wildest dreams materialized upon delivery! Just when I thought life couldn't get any better...I drove my very own Ultima! All I can remember from that first drive was my wife in the background crying out, "SLOOwww...DOWWWNNN!!!"
I've been hooked ever since! By U.S. standards its a very small car, and feels like I'm driving a big go-cart. I've never been in anything quicker, or with more responsive handling. I'll never sell the car. Hopefully, they'll bury me 6 ft. under in it!
Cheers!

Sure I will, almost only 11 weeks now...

Still have thousands of questions though. Now where should I start mmmmm...
