A friend and colleague of mine really wants a 356 for his wedding, and nothing else will do. To be precise, he just wants to drive it the sum total of about a mile from his house to the wedding location and back again!

He has been trying to find one for weekend hire from the various classic car rental places, but without success. Actually he has found two, one in Yorkshire which would mean a round trip of about 600 miles, and one in Majorca (yes really). Neither of which are suitable of course. So I was just wondering if anyone is aware of one for hire in the South somewhere. Or maybe an unattended one in a garage or lockup somewhere, we could have it back there before it was even missed (only kidding!).

Give these guys a call. I think they're based in Gloucester/Cheltenham

Are you a member of PCGB, if so give a call to the 356 register secretary, they may be aware of someone who hires their 356 out, highly unlikely they'll let A.N.Other drive it though.

I just thought I would tie this up by posting the outcome, for posterity (on the slim chance that someone else finds this topic by searching).

The Yorkshire car appears to be the only 356 for hire in the UK. However, the owner has agreed to drive the car down and stay overnight in a Travelodge, returning the following day after the wedding. So assuming it doesn't break down on the way, all's well that ends well. (It seemed impolite to ask how much this was costing though!)
