Hi folks

Is it simple to change the engine mounting rubbers ?

Can I just support the engine on a jack/support and lift it slightly to fit new ones ?

I don't want to make a big job of replacing them if I can get them on easily.

Thanks

Just like you say - take the weight on a jack and remove them. One tip is to leave all the bolts quite loose on both sides until you have all the bolts in, and then tighten them. The alignment of the holes can be a problem if you do one at a time.

Loosened bolts will help, but I've had to used a rope to pull the last one into alignment in the past.
Not a big job though, and I put the wheels onto wooden blocks to aid access to the gearbox mounts.

Many thanks.

Is it also possible to change the gearbox mounting rubber in the same way or is that an engine and gear box out job ?

Very straightforward to change the gearbox mounting block with engine/gearbox in situ. I loosened the two vertical big bolts on the main engine mounts to allow some movement and then used a jack and piece of wood under the sump and a small scissor jack under the bell housing to create enough space. It didn't take very long to get changed over at all.
