ABD call for new Government to extend education to the roads
Discussion
The AA and RAC, it would appear, gave up fighting for drivers' rights years ago ..... it has taken a while but the ABD's message appears now to be getting through to some senior politicians who may well have a hand in shaping road and transport policy in years to come. Thank God for the ABD, tha's all I can say!
I agree. The ABD are the only (relatively) high profile group that has the interests of the motorist as its main objective. While some of their headlines may seem over reactions it is the only way to ensure that people talk about them thus raising the profile.
The AA has made a few comments recently about speed cameras, so maybe the message is getting through to the other motoring organisations, that drivers are getting fed up with being scapegoats.

Your right advertising somewhere at a higher profile is something they need to do. I told my cousin (who is fanaticaly into cars) that I had joined the ABD, his responce was 'Oh yeah, they campaign for higher speed limits or somthing, dont they?'
Obviously I put him right but the point is he did a degree in automotive structural design (or something), so if he doesn't know the details, what hope for the man in the street????????
slight voice of dissent coming up....will get beaten up for it no doubt!
I think the ABD in general are superb, and are the lone real voice of the driver...but....I think they occaisionally undermine their own cause with stupid attacks at goverment/police (see the speeding vs burglary note) If that happens too much then I think it will just undermine all the good work they do......
other then that - yep - need more profile!
It doesn't really matter how much profile the ABD have got because this government is so far up its own arse it just refuses to listen.
Look at Prescott, he is the most arrogant, obnoxious person in politics. Christ people thought Thatcher was unreasonable - she's got nothing on this lot !!

Well finally after all the ballyhoo, the new Liberal government is doing away with photo radar in British Columbia, stating "It doesn't work"
Now I don't know if they did it for the right reasons or just to get elected on a promise of aboloshing an unpopular program, but never the less it's gone, a small victory for drivers around the world but a giant leap for us here.
keep up the fight and all it takes is for it to become an election issue.
