I am looking for an alternator mount that was fitted to serpentine Rover V8 engines.
Believe the Chimera models, possibly others.
Can anyone help, please.

Why not get one of John Eales`s mounts. A lot smaller, and tidier.

I want to be able to use the Rover serpentine belt tensioner.

Am led to believe that when the serpentine belt has to drive the water pump, alternator and PAS pump (as I do) the belt has to be tensioned frequently.

Phazed, would be grateful if you could look out for the one you have, and possibly provide a photo for me to ensure it is the one I would like.
Sorry but I cannot see how to PM you!

Not so. Once set I've never retightened mine on either engine.

Shameless piccie opportunity.

There`s no reason why the JE one should keep needing re tensioning. Like Phazed i`ve never had to adjust mine.

There you go; the tensioner pulley is intact but could do with a new bearing (no great play but feels a bit 'noisy')

Thread Resurrection!

Posted on FB Griff and Chim technical pages but haven't nailed this down yet.

I'm after either a part number or if someone has one available to sell, I would like to buy it. I need to mock this on an engine and can't find which Land Rover serp engine it came from, closest looking was the Defender, but I still can't find that to be conclusive.

Running the AC pump off this bracket, so the JE bracket won't work.
