We are thinking of going to St Tropez for a week or two in the summer and would like to hire something nice to drive whilst we are out there. Can anyone recommend any companies that offer this service? Thanks.

www.classiccarhire.com has an office in Cannes, not too far away. I think they are a UK company www.classic-car-hire.co.uk

They have Porsches, BMW etc and also I think may even have a 360 and Murcelago! Have fun!

Take yours and make it part of the trip. You'll have a great time!

BTW, St Tropez ain't that big. And you can't swim in the sea as the concoction of gin palace diesel, foundation, lipstick and mascara that is in the sea is worse than swimming with the jobbies in Southend.

But up and down that coast there are plenty of great places to visit.

Sonia, I can't imagine why you decided that the Ferrari board was the most suitable place to pose such a question

Oh and Pampalona beach is the only place to go

Well I agree (for certain things) but on the whole in the summer the only way to arrive in St T is on a boat (unless you like sitting in quite phenomenally terrible traffic jams). I'd give the place a wide berth.

The streets are also very narrow.

Just make sure you grease the palm of the harbourmaster some months before ;-)

St Tropez, possibly one of the most overrated destinations in the world. Why bother?

Due to the complete nobheads who buggered up a quiet fishing town! Down there (St Trop, Grimaud) is wonderful when the filthy swines have buggered off and taken their cheap lushes with them.

Not overrated, more misrepresented as it is a wonderful place when the tastless rich and their hanger-oners have buggered off to back where they came from. There are some rather tasty roads if you know where to look. That coupled with the local boys who love a good race along the costal roads in whatever they drive make it very sweet indeed.

MARA

not many places I would rather spend my time - not during summer of course. Well, I can make exceptions for the travelled totty on the beach

Nah. That's Cleethorpes.

I actually thought St Tropez was much nicer than I expected. Wouldn't spend a week there, but with so many quality places near by, you don;t need to.

Can take 60 minutes to drive out of St Tropez to Snte Maxime, just around the bay. The traffic is awful in the summer there.

Get off the beaten track however!...........

I agree with a previous contributor, drive there from UK, its a blast! (Pun intended )
