2016 Camaro Prices now on Chevrolet UK website

Prices for official GM imports of the new Camaro in the UK have now been published on the Chevrolet UK website:

Also no V6 officially available in the UK - so it's either the 2.0 turbo auto or the 6.2 V8 with 8 speed auto or 6 speed manual.

they've been at it for decades, release a holy grail car then sell millions of also rans off the back of it, how many 3.0 Capri Mk 1s did they sell compared to the 1.6, they even did a 1.3 IIRC

Just jumping on this convo as I'm test driving the v8 2ss saturday. doesn't seem to be many people on here to discuss with on the camaro?

I'm hoping the reason for low sells is most people would go for a Mustang over a Camaro. a friend picked his Mustang up from ford in southampton a week ago and it is very nice. they def have lacked on paying attention to the trim inside to keep the price down but his GT is still very nice. I've priced up for the v8 manual 2ss Camaro with the dual performance exhaust and magnetic ride suspension, also with the black wheels and comes in just shy of 40K.
The other advantage is with the v8 you get nearly all the optional extras as standard including the apple play, HUD. I've got a slight worry that they've fitted extra oil coolers etc. wondering if its because these squeezed the block in the Camaro and had previous problems.

I really like the look of the new Camaro, but something cant be quite right with them. Cheaper than the equivalent Mustang but being outsold 2:1 in the USA.

The Mustang's considerably cheaper than the Camaro in the US. Apparently GM are not chasing the rental market. Road tests suggest the V8 Camaro is a better car than the Mustang GT - certainly faster and better handling.

I'm a little worried about after sales too for when/if i get the car. the only authorised dealer is in virgina waters but its still going to be an import. I'm test driving the 2ss tomorrow so will be asking all these questions. With the mustang you get normal warranty through ford as its r/h drive and not an import.

I see A LOT of s550 mustangs everyday. I will see a new camaro once every 2 weeks if that. They are more expensive than the mustang generally.
I think it is the styling. It looks blah. The 5th gen looks miles better.

Personally if I had the money for a 2017 muscle car, i'd pick the Challenger SRT8.

I'd love to hear people's experiences of the 2016/7 Camaro - I bought an import 2010/11 5 months ago after test driving that and the new mustang. I went for the older Camaro because it just felt more special and, let's face it, they are nowhere near as common as any generation of mustang.

I had a 2010 for 2 1/2 years and neither had or heard of any problems re oil.

Have you driven one yet?

Why would fitting an oil cooler be a bad thing?!?!? Surely it's a great option. Plus, assuming it's the LT1 engine I think they all have them. And it's a oil to water cooler.

Due to take a drive of this shortly - first impressions (oddly) when I sat in it was that it reminded me of the 'Breadvan' '71 429 SCJ Mustang fastback I owned many years ago - with such a high body line and windows shallow enough to have been the result of a roof chop, coupled with sitting low in the drivers seat and a fairly reclined posture (as is my preference) external visibilty all round was, er 'challenging'

I have one in the US and its a great car.
I paid $37k for a 1ss with 8sp auto and magnaride shocks.
What really surprises me about the car is the grip. Doesn't spin the tires, just goes. And sticks like glue in the corners.

Might book a test drive to see what the NA LT1 is like compared to the FI LSA in my VXR8. Suspension and oil coolers are similar on both, bet the interiors are very much alike as well. Would love to have my '8, a Camaro and a corvette on my drive
