Some stories from this weeks local rag:- Man attacked with metal pole, 70 year old woman attacked and robbed, killer flips and kills wife, man sexually assaults 12 year old girl, midwife shot with an air rifle, 80 year old pensioner held at knifepoint by 68 year old man.......where do I live? inner Manchester, darkest Leeds, no a small village outside Cambridge. And in the last 3 years living here my wife has been threatened by a drunken lout, my kids were visited and threatened by a video shop owner for not returning a DVD the next day, a local nutter who put a pensioner in hospital threatened my daughter, my sons mate was pulled out of his new mini opposite the local police station and an attempt made to steal his car. Is it me or is society getting a little bit intimidating

This is getting out of control because society his decided that the victim is not allowed to sort the little ****er out in his/her own way.

In my eyes in acts of physical aggression once they pass the boundary of the law I the victim should not be constrained by the law. Yes the worlds gone mad.

And no I do not need some lentil munching pompous prick pointing out to me about moving to anarchy and how if we tried to unstand these scrotes the world would be a better place.

Society does have to answer for the increase in violence in the last decade or so.... with so much violence shown in films, "information" available over the net, high sugar diets and a general slippin of moral standards in public and private life etc it is not surprising that more and more people are reverting to physical violence to get what they want.

However, to balance this out, the victim has to be allowed to protect himself from those that would step over the legal boundaries, with no fear of prosecution.

An interesting one in the Mail yesterday about a bloke who chased and caught a bloke who had robbed his house, dragged him back and waited for the police to arrest him, which they duly did. the scrote was whingin and moanin all the time about brutality towards him, but after a visit from the police surgeon was deemed to have no injuries and was duly sent down for two years, all the time threatening violence towards the home owner and his family.

Now the f@cking magistrates have allwoed him to prosecute the home owner for ABH - and on legal aid FFS!! Don't these people (magistrates) understand that if you step over the boundaries you are forfeiting a lot of your rights??

I'd be interested to hear what Bobthebench has to say on this subject??

Makes u wonder weather its worth living in this country anymore, I worked in France for 9 mnths and my girlfriend is from there and they just seem to be like it was here 30-40yrs ago, in most places in the countryside they dont NEED to lock things up and everyone talks to everyone and helps each other if needed.
Unfortunatly we are Know living in Country where we are all starting to live in our own little worlds and cutting off from others.
I live in a cul-de-sac of about 15 houses and although i say hello to everyone i see i only really talk to my immediatte neighbours either side.
How many people do u Know down your street.

In the spirit of not trying to piss anyone off ...

Do yourselves a favour and log into the official INTEPOL site and check out the stats on Murders per year in countries around the world... England is still ranked amongst the safest counries to live, I've said this before but will re-iterate, I would much rather live in England that South Afica (where I lived most of my life), You have a beautiful country, one with so much to offer! Ok, so you have a couple of bad apples in the basket.

The grass may be greener on the other side but it still needs mowing!

I parked my car outside the misses place (a relatively prosperous area of Guildofrd) only to find some little scrote nicking the valve caps from the car!

Following an "oi, what do you think you're doing?" type line (only slightly more colourful) I gave chase to said scrote.

Having got the little fr cornered, I was then a bit shocked to have this ten year old kid pull a knife on me... FFS!

Walked away... but what the hell is the world coming to?

hey, the message from Blair is "do anything you like, unless we can tax it". Encourage crime, and then take the money in fines. And tax spent protection your property with alarms & locks & other stuff.
And the biggest criminal of all, is of course the motorist!
