A long as you are careful this wont happen. At xmas I had a bout of insomnia and went for a drive at 4 am and found a big wide open and frozen carpark. The back end of an R is far harder to get out of line than I expected. Dont tempt fate though!

Congratulations on your new P&J!

You do need to be careful, especially in this weather. Rear wheel drive, light weight, high BHP/ton figure and no traction control can all add up to conspire against you very quickly.

Dont worry too much though I'm sure warm sunny days are not too far off (although you wouldnt think it at the moment)

Many congrats on your new pride & joy - drove an 'R' at the factory test track - a very capable car but as the other guys have said here take it really easy while it's still winter weather - just make sure all wheels are facing forwards before nailing the throttle!

Th lotus salesman said to me that you almost need to a adopt a biker type attitude i.e. assume no one can see you because you are so low down, drive with your head lights on etc.

Above all enjoy it!

Good advice guys!
Allthough i'm not new to elise ownership (s1 elise for 3 years) I will be taking it easy because of the running-in time but I have to say even keeping it below 5k this has to be the best elise varint so far!

Hi Guy's

Wicked Choice mate I brought our 111R in September and so far I've only managed to spin it once be careful thou these thing's really catch you out. To touch on something else that's already mentioned you tend to come up on other car's very quickly on the open road, they don't really now how to react I've had this quite a lot as I've got more confident with the Car
