Does anyone have any experience of the following Tequipment upgrade : Carrera Powerkit
(For 911 Carrera up to 12/00 only)
Boosts power output from 221 kW to 235 kW using a modified alloy induction system, modified cylinder heads and modified exhaust manifolds. The package also includes an additional oil pump in each cylinder head.

What sort of bhp / torque increase does this equate to? It's for my '99 996 C4 tiptronic.

14KW sounds shit for a shed load of expensive sounding bits and pieces. Value for money right up there with £2 cans of Coke at the British GP, at a guess.

Think you're right about that Domster. Costs about £6k including labour.

I think 14Kw is about 22bhp or something. Not a lot. I'm not sure you'd even notice it - apart from the fact your power to weight ratio will have improved when your wallet goes 6 grand lighter.

Have you got a sports exhaust? I am a fan of these because they make the car more enjoyable to drive without the itch for more performance. Quite a cheap mod and you'll enjoy the car twice as much. With an air filer and rechip at a decent outfit (JZ Machtech do a Roock chip AFAIK), you could probably get another 15-20bhp anyway, for much less money.

As soon as you start messing with heads, the prices go up steeply. Not worth the investment IMHO.

Cheers

It's only about 2KW more than a domestic cooker
