Did anybody else watch this on BBC 1 last night and have to fight back the urge to put a boot through the TV?

Typical BBC in pre election mode showing a drama about the miners strike where all Tory's and "bosses" are portrayed as total bastards and all miners as plucky chaps fighting for a just cause against an evil oppressor.

I bloody well object to my licence fee being spent on a party political brioadcast for the Labour party two months before a general election.

The only saving grace was the fantastic performance by the brilliant and strangely alluring Christine Tremarco.

I took a quick look at the 9-10 slot and decided to do some plastering. How bad does it have to get before that's the best option ??

Didnt watch it myself as I knew it would be a bit of a nightmare. I lived just north of the areas worst hit and knew all about what happened.

I saw on Breakfast TV about this and decided to avoid it when they started going on about how the government / police hired people they used to start the fights by throwing bricks..... well that is true.... BUT

So is the fact that "scab" miners were abused, had their dogs kicked to death, had their wives spat at everywhere they went and some of their tactics when dealing with the police was down right dispicable (sp?).

Both sides were bad, it was a bad time and nasty things happened. To highlight one side is wrong - balance is what is needed..... so glad I didnt watch it in the end.
