Sorna 'Jacky Ickx Easy Rider' bargain!!
Discussion
Hi all
I went to a carboot sale last week and dropped upon a fair old bargain!.. I'd forgotten to strap a watch on and it felt strange with a nekked wrist so I kept my eyes open for a watch to slip on..
Couldn't believe my luck when I spotted this lovely old wind up chrono!
I asked the old dear how much it was and her reply was "It's my son in laws, He doesn't want it any more- I was hoping to get £8 for it!!
I was happy at eight quid, I wound it up, set the hands and put it on!
When I was home I had a look for info on the Ickx watches as I wasn't very familiar with them, You could have knocked me down with a feather when the first hit was an ebay lot, At over £500
There was only three or four on fleabay but all were around the same price as I thought the first was a mistake!!
It's been running contiuously since I bought it last sunday and time keeping is excellent, Power reserve is such that it only needs winding every two days and is comfy to wear!!!

The watch is 'as new' with absolutely no wear and no marks!!
I also bought a 1980's Seiko LCD for two quid and a Rotary Classic Dolphin Standard for a couple of quid too but when I arrived home, I found the shaft broken and crown missing, Looks like costing around £35 to get it replaced, I'll get it done as it's such a handsome watch!

The Seiko..

Here's hoping I fall as lucky again this weekend!!
