I'm planning a trip with a friend of mine to drive to Inverness and then do the north coast 500 route over a long weekend.
Were driving up from Oxfordshire, so a good long drive on day one and were planning to stay somewhere in or around Inverness for the first night.

We're going in a Ferrari 360, I am a little bit precious about it, so was looking to try and find somewhere half decent to stay with some sort of secure parking. I'd rather stay out of the town, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of any hotels they may have stayed at in and around the area?
My friend wants to do it on a budget, however I'm not quite so fussed , so any suggestions welcome

Any out of town place to stay around Inverness will be fine for security. The problem may be more, can you actually get a 430 up the drive?

In Inverness most places will be fine. A 430 drving about is not uncommon.

You won't have a problem. Fezzas are very common, and never get stolen.

(ETA It ain't like down south, I moved up from Oxfordshire)

You shouldn't have any problems, but Kingsmills hotel is on the outskirts and will have seen plenty of nice cars before. Drumossie hotel is a few miles out of town, just of the A9. The Mercure beside the river has a 'secure' car-park, with a barrier (I think!).

I wouldn't want to be trying to park anything decent at the Mercure. It's a sardine can car park where you're lucky to get a space and half the spaces seem to be taken up by gym members.

If you want somewhere close enough to walk into town but far enough out to be quiet then have a look at the Craigmonie. It won't break the bank and I've had the Lotus/911turbo/Bikes all parked there with no issues.

Don't remember the Mercure being too bad, but it is a few years since I've been there.

Craigmonie is a good shout.
Lochardil is another option a bit further out.
